Robert Brant Looking To Shine In World Boxing Super Series

Robert Brant might not be known to many fight fans yet but his upcoming opportunity against a teak tough German could be just what he needs.

Fighter records: Juergen Braehmer (48-3 35KO) vs Robert Brant (22-0 15KO)

Date: October 28th, 2017. Venue TBA.

While the only American of the World Boxing Super Series is an accomplished amateur, he’s going to have all he can handle with former light heavyweight champion and battle hardened German veteran Juergen Braehmer.

If Braehmer’s technique and speed haven’t diminished too much from his last bout, an injury related stoppage against now retired Nathan Cleverly (who was having some trouble himself with Braehmer) then Brant is in for a long evening.

Brant has been praised for his own skill and crushing power which could serve as an equalizer given that he’s the younger opponent facing a thirty-eight year old who has now boiled down in weight to face him.

Time will catch up to Braehmer, and he will lose in my opinion, possibly after a highly entertaining showdown of skill and wit.

He may give Brant some trouble in figuring him out early on, but coming down in weight and age will prove too much facing an opponent who most likely is faster, stronger and has a pretty good skill set of his own.

I think Juergen has the wisdom to avoid a knockout and make the bout a good chess match in spots, but not to see his way past this up-an-comer over the course of the bout.

Outcome: Brant, unanimous decision victory.
