The Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo BoxNation viewing has been clarified after some confusion among fight fans ahead of the mega fight.

The fight countdown is well and truly underway now a little over eleven days to go until one of boxing’s modern middleweight classics takes place.

The fight will be shown on HBO pay per view in the United States but it was not certain how the format would exactly work for fans in Ireland and the UK.

Broadcaster BoxNation have clarified the situation today however:

There was worry that existing subscribers of BoxNation might have to pay the pay per view price for the fight, but this is not the case.

Existing customers will be delighted to know that they will get the fight as part of their monthly subscription.

Furthermore, those who don’t subscribe to BoxNation will also be able to get the fight as a once off for the above price on pay per view in the UK and Ireland.

This will mark the first time that BoxNation have offered a pay per view in this way with a customer having the instantaneous ability to purchase via their remote control.

It is thought this might help drive additional pay per view sales for the dedicated boxing TV channel and will level the playing field somewhat with the powerful Sky Sports box office platform.

An adept marketing machine for boxing that has shown the majority of big pay per view fights in recent years in Ireland and the UK – most recently Mayweather vs McGregor.

This fight is a real coup for BoxNation. Golovkin vs Canelo is widely expected to be one of the great battles in modern boxing history.

A must see for any boxing, or fight fan in general:
