‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley on Mayweather vs McGregor – giving his breakdown on August 26th’s fight and clearing up gloves misconception.
One man who perhaps knows more about how to land a clean punch on Floyd Mayweather than anyone is Shane Mosley.
When the two fought Mosley famously rocked Mayweather twice in the second round with massive right hands.
Mayweather managed to last out the round however and ultimately, like all great champions do, come back stronger and won a comfortable points decision in the end.
‘Sugar’ Shane is now retired but is a keen spectator on next week’s fight that has intrigued many casual sports fans, as well as boxing and MMA fans around the world alike.
During the week the decision came that the fight would use eight ounce gloves which was seen by some as an advantage for both Mayweather and McGregor in different ways.
Mosley was keen to dispel the importance of the glove size however and also offered an excellent breakdown from a boxing perspective when speaking on the Colin Cowhered show below.
He talks tactics that he’s expecting that McGregor and his team are most likely working and why they simply won’t work against Mayweather like they think they will:
