WBO super-featherweight champion of the world Vasyl Lomachenko offers to step in and help McGregor ahead of Mayweather fight.

Conor McGregor is now in final preparations for his daunting August 26th boxing match in Las Vegas against Floyd Mayweather and finds himself without a chief sparring partner.

His main sparring partner and former world champion Paulie Malignaggi quit the training camp this past weekend after been angered by leaked pictures on social media.

He’s since released some statements about McGregor that clearly show his dislike for the Irishman as a person.

On the same weekend, the man who many now regard as the current pound for pound best boxer in the world Vasyl Lomachenko recorded his latest win live on ESPN.

He’s offered McGregor the chance for him to step into Malignaggi’s shoes if he’s in need of a new sparring partner:

Straight away those within boxing know what would happen if the two ever came near each other in a boxing ring but in a way, it could be a good move for McGregor if he really wants to get some final last minute sweet science tips before his fight with Mayweather.

All be it potentially brutal ones.

One would imagine Lomachenko would take it easy on him though, and that his offer of sparring would be seen as a good publicity move for the Ukraine native – who failed to record big TV ratings on ESPN this past weekend.

Time will tell of McGregor takes up the offer from one of the modern day boxing geniuses of the current era (hat tip Reznick):
