Conor Benn Very Explosive In His 7th Professional Fight

Conor Benn moved on in his pro career tonight with an emphatic display over a gutsy Mike Cole who gave a good account of himself.

Benn showed good pivots and movement in round one while sinking in some quick punches to the body, although he had to take on to give one at times.

Conor Benn who clearly had a similar fight style to his legendary father Nigel, was explosive in round two and sent Mike Cole to the canvas with a powerful right hand.

A beautiful shot straight down the pipe that badly hurt Cole. Benn varied his attacks with a mixed array of different shots and angles.

Previously unbeaten Mike Cole, showed massive heart to ship the punishment in the second and even comeback firing with big bombs of his own.

Cole who had took the bout on literally a day’s notice, had the writing on the wall in round 3 however.

Conor Benn nailed him with a flurry up against the ropes and finished things with a big left hand that sent him to the floor again, ending the contest: (hat tip Sky Sports)

The win improved Benn’s professional record to 7-0 (5KO).

The commentators mentioned that tonight was perhaps one of the first time’s Benn started a bout calmly – then progressing his aggression into proceedings as he grew into the fight.

An excellent variety of punching from Conor Benn, all in all. A 20 year old welterweight prospect without doubt a bright future.

Following the fight his Hall of Fame father Nigel Benn praised his son’s performance but mentioned there was a long way to go.
