The Golovkin Canelo face off in New York took place today as the fighters stopped in the Big Apple as part of their international tour.

Many thought this day would never come. The day where they would see a Golovkin Canelo face off and an official fight agreement signed.

Patience is a virtue as they say. All good things come to those who wait.

The pair kicked off their international press tour this week in London, England ahead of their upcoming fight on September 16th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Just a few weeks before in the month of August at the same venue a certain Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor boxing match will happen.

But organizers of Golovkin vs Canelo and boxing fans are not letting that steal too much thunder it would seem – at leasr from this week’s GGG vs Canelo press tour.

The reality is that most boxing and indeed combat sports fans will likely watch both fights. For very different reasons mind you.

Golvokin vs Canelo is obviously the legitimate world championship boxing fight that has been building nicely for a number of years.

The other is what it is, an entertaining spectacle that will be watched by a huge audience for it’s sheer intrigue.

Here is the Golovkin Canelo face off today in New York (hat tip FightHub YouTube):
