Big fight weekend is upon us again with the Canelo vs Chavez weigh in set to take place later today in Las Vegas.

Big fight fever is prevalent in the sweet science this weekend with the biggest fight of the year in the US so far taking place between Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

It’s an all Mexican battle taking place on Cinco De Mayo weekend so the Mexican fight fans will be out in force supporting their fighters.

The atmosphere so far in Vegas looks to be electric and all eyes now turn to today’s Canelo vs Chavez weigh in with both fighters due to get to the scales around 2.30pm local time in Vegas, 5.30pm ET (10.30pm in the UK).

Chavez Jr has had some struggles with making the weight in the past so there will be a lot of speculation in the coming hours around if he can make weight.

The bout is scheduled at a catchweight of 164.5lbs, however if either fighter misses weight it is understood they will face a hefty million dollar fine per pound that they are over.
