Anthony Joshua reveals why the Klitschko rematch might not happen – despite the massive reaction to their fight at Wembley.
A Klitschko rematch with Anthony Joshua is surely something most fans would entertain after the tremendous display both men put up at Wembley stadium.
Bars, clubs and households alike around the world watching the fight who were not fortunate enough to be at the fight all went wild on social media following the bout.
The Klitscho rematch is certainly something the Ukrainian can ask for if he likes, as the clause is in his fight contract – as it is in Joshua’s.
Whether or not he exercises that clause however is entirely up to him. Speaking to some members of the media Joshua noted:
“I think the team around him, his soon to be wife, because they normally wear the trousers, and his brother might advise him differently.”
Klitschko is 41 now and realistically has achieved everything in boxing he can at this point.
He is without question a future Hall of Fame fighter, so it will be interesting to see what kind of motivation he has to box on following such a savage bout with Joshua.
If he doesn’t fight on it’s been quite the career though. Lets take a quick look back at some of his finest moments in the sweet science to date:
