Antonio Orozco vs Keandre Gibson Confirmed For April 1st

A clash of undefeated super-lightweight contenders that will take place at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

A fight between two undefeated pugilists now in the 140lbs division was announced by Golden Boy today.

One that could potentially go some way to earning a world title shot for the winner later in 2017.

Antonio Orozco vs Keandre Gibson

Antonio Orozco (25-0-16KO) hails from LA in California.

His most noteworthy wins in recent years include that over Abner Lopez, Stevie Forbes and Humberto Soto.

Perhaps the slightly bigger puncher of the two, he will give away three inches in reach and height, as well as three years in youth to his 26 year old foe Gibson (16-0-1-7KO) who stands at 5’10.

Gibson who hails from St.Louis is the slightly less experienced of the two – with Orozco perhaps having fought more well known names to this point.

But make no mistake, this is a very competitive match up.

The super-lightweight division is stacked at the top at present, so both men will be looking to earn their piece of the pie and a crack at the big names later this year.

In terms of the champions currently at 140lbs, you have recognized division number one Terence Crawford, alongside WBA (Super) champ Ricky Burns and IBF belt holder Julius Indongo.
