Report: Lucas Browne Allegedly Tests Positive In Drug Test

Concerning news for Lucas Browne fans has emerged in Australia.

Dan Rafael of ESPN has reported that the Australian heavyweight has allegedly failed a drug test.

As part of the WBC (World Boxing Council) new ‘Clean Boxing Program’, Rafael has reported that Browne has failed a voluntary test as part of it in his home country of Australia.

His first sample allegedly came back positive for the prohibited substance ostarine (which is also referred to as enobosarm).

Browne has not commented on the matter as of yet.

He was and as things stand, is still due to face 44 year old American Shannon Briggs next up in a fight for the WBA ‘regular’ title.

This news could put that into limbo however and potentially his career too.

Undefeated Browne (24-0-21KO) has worked hard to get to where he is today in the sport of boxing and has been guided by promoter Ricky Hatton in his professional career thus far.

He defeated Ruslan Chagaev to win the WBA ‘regular’ title originally this year, back in May in Russia, only for the title to be later stripped off him after another alleged failed drug test at the time.
