Joseph Parker Sets Up Possible Joshua Fight Via This Uppercut KO

New Zealand’s leading fighting son Joseph Parker took another step on his quest for a world title today with a solid performance in Christchurch.

Parker (20-0-17KO) wasted little time in extending his undefeated record by taking out fellow countryman Solomon Haumono inside four rounds.

However, he was made to work in those four rounds by his tough 40 year old competitor – who enjoyed some decent success early on and even marked up the eye of Parker.

But fitness was to prove to be an issue for Solomon, who looked like he was getting tired early on after exerting considerable effort to try to hurt his younger foe.

This left an opening for Parker in the 4th round to land a beautiful uppercut. ultimately bringing about the end of the contest.

The performance by Parker might have been appealing to Anthony Joshua’s handlers though, given the fact that a 40 year old Solomon was able to land on him, which surely we give them even more confidence in their man doing the job if the pair meet.

But this is heavyweight boxing though and as we all know, one punch can change the course of a fight.

Parker is currently mandatory challenger for Joshua’s IBF strap, with Joshua yet to announce who he will be facing next after recently defeating American Dominic Breazeale.

Joshua has been adamant recently that whoever it is he faces next up in 2016 that he wants it to be against a serious contender.
