Tentative Date Mentioned For Fury vs Klitschko Rematch

The fight was recently postponed due to a sprained ankle suffered by Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury.

Work is underway at the moment to find a new date for the Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko rematch for the lineal heavyweight championship.

When the fight was initially announced that is was to be postponed by Fury recently, uncle and trainer Peter Fury confirmed at the time that the bout would still take place at the same venue of the Manchester Arena in the UK.

However no exact time frame was mentioned as to when it would happen, but speaking on Twitter this week Peter Fury has revealed that a date that has been mentioned to them so far is:

@Mattkeys39 oct 29 sir I’m hearing

— peter fury. (@peterfury) June 27, 2016

He then mentioned October 29th again yesterday when speaking to a fan online:

@rossicarnu 29

— peter fury. (@peterfury) June 29, 2016

October 29th gives plenty of time for Tyson Fury to recover and also for the fight to be built up and promoted once again.

However it now effectively rules out the Anthony Joshua unification fight from happening this year at least, with the Englishman likely to fight aroud a similar time if not before October 29th in his next defence against whom some are tipping could be against New Zealand’s Joseph Parker.
