Chris Eubank Jr Applies To Represent Great Britain in 2016 Olympics
News has broken on Twitter that professional British middleweight champion Chris Eubank has applied to become team GB’s first professional boxer at this year’s Rio Olympics.
Eubank’s last appearance in the professional boxing ring came against Nick Blackwell when although Eubank won the contest, and the British title, the fight was marred by the tragic injury Blackwell suffered after the fight in the form of a bleed on his brain.
Thankfully however after been successfully taken out of an induced coma, Blackwell is back to full health.
Eubank Jr has been linked in recent times with fights against the likes of Gennady Golovkin, but it has sensationally emerged on Twitter today that the Brighton man will look to compete in this year’s Olympics under new rule changes that allow professional boxers to compete at the Olympics for the first time:

A statement has been released from team GB confirming the approach from people representing Eubank Jr looking to apply to represent his country at the Olympics, but they have told him that there is no room on the team for him.
