Confirmed: Wilder vs Povetkin Postponed

The news that many boxing fans dreaded has now been made official.

The World Boxing Council had previously released a statement on their website prior to today’s announcement, that mentioned they would be investigating the matter further – but the news that no one wanted has now been unfortunately made real, ahead of what would have been a terrific fight.

Neither fighter or their respective camps have made any comment as of yet, with the new date for the fight being unclear at this point, or what potentially could happen to Povetkin’s current mandatory contender status with the WBC for Wilder’s belt.
