Despite his stellar record in the ring and relentless rampage on the world boxing scene over the last few years, many general sports fans who watch boxing perhaps only for the big fights and big names, still do not know who Roman Gonzalez is.
He is, for many people’s buck within the sport of boxing, the premier professional boxer on the plant right now, pound for pound – regardless of weight division.
He certainly deserves more recognition and press coverage than he has received so far with the wider sports media, but if he keeps winning in emphatic fashion like he has been, one would think eventually he simply has to get the respect he deserves.
