Amir Khan: Kell Brook Is Someone Who I Know I Can Beat Easily

Britain’s Amir Khan is preparing for the biggest fight of his life next month against Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas, but questions about a fight with his long-time rival in the UK Kell Brook still persist.

It’s a fight that has been talked about forever it seems among boxing fans, a bout that for one reason or another, has yet to materialize into reality.

Speaking with Kugan Cassius of IFL TV ahead of his upcoming mega match for the WBC Middleweight title, Khan feels the Brook fight is gone now and that he’d easily beat him anyway:

“I think it’s gone to be honest with you. I did put it to Brook, I did put it to Eddie (Hearn) and his team as well. Before this fight with Canelo was announced I said look, let’s get the (Brook) fight done. Lets talk numbers. Lets talk about the fight happening. It seems to me that they didn’t want it and that’s why the fight didn’t happen, and that’s why I went and picked Canelo.”

He added:

“But look, I wanted the (Brook) fight. I’m not afraid of the fight and for those people who say I am afraid of the fight, I think they just don’t know what they are on about. Because if I’m fighting someone who is more dangerous, who is much bigger and stronger in Canelo, I’d rather take an easier fight – which is Kell Brook. Someone who I know I can beat, easily.”

Khan’s fight with Canelo will be on May 7th at the newly constructed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
