It was a good night for Irish professional boxing in Boston last night, with big wins for Irish duo Stephen ‘The Rock’ Ormond and Niall Kennedy who were on their travels.

Wexford heavyweight Niall Kennedy began the show for the Irish in style, when he won by a first round stoppage over Arthur Saribekian to take his record now to 4-0 (2KO).

It marked Kennedy’s second successful fight in the States since turning pro.

The evening at the House of Blues venue in Boston also saw Dublin lightweight contender Stephen Ormond win in impressive fashion, as he put on a boxing clinic over Marcos Jimenez to win a unanimous decision and capture the vacant IBF intercontinental title.

Here’s a clip via Twitter of some of the Rock’s best work:

Ormond improved his record to 21-2 (11KO) with the win.
