Mayweather Says He Could Put Halt To Khan Canelo and Fight 50th Fight On Same Date

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather (49-0-26KO) has revealed that a 50th fight could be on the cards later this year.

Touching on how he could potentially put a halt on Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan if he wanted, Mayweather told Fight Hype (full interview segment) that a bout with Danny Garcia would take precedence if he approached the MGM if he was coming out retirement and wanted to fight on the same night:

“I could easily put a halt on that fight if I choose to call Angel Garica, Danny Garica’s dad and say you know what, sir, you’re a hell of a trainer, you’re son’s a hell of a fighter. He’s an undefeated champion, I’m an undefeated champion and I think it would be great for me and your son both to make a lot of money.”

Mayweather added:

“It would be a good for me to come back for number 50 and fight the undefeated Danny Garcia at the MGM Grand. Danny Garcia is undefeated and he is very explosive.”

Mayweather concluded:

“I could go over to the MGM Grand and say you know what, we need a venue also. If I’m not mistaken, I fought Canelo, right, and then Danny Garcia fought Amir Khan, and we’re both undefeated. So do you want to see them or do you want to see us? I’m just saying, I’m just putting it out there. Those are the type of things I can do.”

It is worth noting that the Canelo vs Khan fight is slated to take place at the newly constructed T-Mobile Arena, which is a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and the Anschutz Entertainment Group.
