Watch: Heavyweight Joseph Parker TKO Jason Bergman

New Zealand heavyweight prospect Joseph Parker continued his impressive unbeaten run at the Faleata Sports Complex, Apia, Samoa.

24 year old Joseph Parker extended his professional record to 18-0 (16KO) with an 8th round TKO win over American Jason Bergman to defend his WBO Oriental and African heavyweight titles.

The unheralded 31 year old Bergman proved to be a very durable opponent in the end, and soaked up a lot of punishment throughout the fight.

He went down in both round two and seven before finally been finished off with a wicked left hook to the body that did the damage, before Parker followed up with a flurry of punches as Bergman crumpled to a knee – prompting the referee to call things off.

Parker is now ranked in the top ten in all the major governing bodies’ world rankings, and one would suspect a big year is ahead for the talented fighting Kiwi.
