For the first time in boxing history a big time fight will be available for fans to view live free of charge via the internet.

This weekend’s Deontay Wilday vs Artur Szpilka fight for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world will now be shown live on YouTube via the Showtime Sport’s YouTube Channel, free of charge for fight fans.

The news this week will mark the first time in professional boxing history where a fight of this magnitude is available to stream via the internet, and could be a strong signal of where boxing coverage and indeed live sports coverage is moving towards for the future.

The Showtime card also includes another heavyweight date on the same night where the IBF belt (recently stripped from Tyson Fury) to be contested between Charles Martin and Vyacheslav Glazkov.
