A welterweight dust up between the two has been rumored for quite some time, but now looks like its finally about to happen.

Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter are two American welterweights who can punch and possess exciting fight styles, so a mooted showdown between the two will come as welcome news for boxing fans.

According to reports from USA Today Sports, apparently an agreement has been reached that will see the two 147lbs contenders collide on either March 5th or March 12th, live on prime time television in the States (via CBS).

It is understood that negotiations are at an advanced stage, and final talks surround what venue will be utilized for the fight, and who will be on the under card are set to conclude soon.

Keith Thurman (26-0, 22KO) last fought back in July, when he took care of Luis Collazo inside the distance (who retired in the 7th round) to defend his WBA title.

Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16KO) fought last back in June, when he outpointed Adrien Broner in a unanimous decision victory.
