Jason Quigley Dubbed New Nickname “El Animal”

Rising Irish boxing star’s stock continues to rise within the paid ranks.

Donegal’s talented young boxer Jason Quigley moved his unbeaten run to eight wins in as many fights, after beating American southpaw Michael Faulk in impressive fashion last Saturday in a scheduled 6 round super-middleweight bout at the Fantasy Springs Resort in California.

The former World and European medal-winning amateur standout maintained his perfect  record  since turning professional, again winning with a second-round knockout.

With only one second remaining on the clock and after two prior knockdowns in the 2nd round, Faulk’s corner showed compassion for their man by throwing in the towel.

Jason Quigley was dominant throughout the bout in truth, showing both patience and composure with his punch selection also very on point,  jabbing to the body and head with impressive accuracy and power.

The outcome was never in doubt with another fight never destined not to go the distance for this dynamic Irish fighter, such was his quality.

Talking about his opponent after the fight, the 24 year old Quigley said to Ring TV:

“I didn’t know a lot about this opponent so I had to figure him out in the first round to see what he was all about. Obviously he was a southpaw so was open to the backhand, so I tried to land a few backhands to the head and to the body.

And I caught him with one at the start of the second round and he went down after that.”

Quigley’s  star is on the rise Stateside and particularly  in LA where he is now based, and where he is gaining a cult status among the city’s Mexican boxing fans in particular.

A fact reflected with the Ring TV commentator bestowing a new and rather interesting nickname “El Animal” on the young  Irishman.

A nickname that no doubt will continue to garner recognition in the coming months as this talented young fighter continues to improve.
