Claressa Shields Reacts To Women’s Boxing Round Duration Changes

It has been speculated for a time that the duration of rounds for female professional boxing could increase.

To three minutes.

It is not clear yet what the relevant medical research is though.

Or what the thought leadership from the relevant Athletic Commissions are on the subject.

Leading female boxer Claressa Shields reacted to recent comments from Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano:

I think it was great for @Serranosisters to ask @KatieTaylor for the 3 minute 12 rounds. I believe just the question itself pushes the cause. We need equality but also women need to start preparing for the change.
