Former promoter of both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum has now given his reaction to the news that both men have said they will rematch one another.
While not official both boxers said on their verified social media accounts today that the fight will happen and various videos online have shown a December date as the month being mentioned for it.
It looks very likely that it will happen for then.
Mayweather at one time was promoted by Arum’s Top Rank and Pacquiao up until last year had a promotional agreement with him that has now ran out.
Speaking to Fight Hype tonight Arum said of the fight:
“Good luck to them. Sure it’s a possibility. It’s probably a way that they can each make some good money but I don’t want any involvement in it because I have an obligation to put on good fights with good young fighters in their prime and Mayweather and Pacquiao are hardly in their prime.”
Speaking to more members of the press tonight Arum continued to say:
“Two guys looking to make a last pay-day!”
It will be interesting to see what network the fight happens on in the US when it does happen.
