Lightweight Youssef Khoumari has revealed his plans ahead of the new season in domestic boxing and admits he hopes to have another three fights in the final months of the year.
The 22-year-old has an immaculate record so far in his short career, winning all four bouts with one coming inside the scheduled distance.
Trained by the popular Xavier Miller out of his expanding IQ Boxing stable, the talented prospect is looking to continue his impressive record when he returns to the ring in early September.
And Khoumari, who can already boast fighting on two televised cards already in his career, has been sparring the likes of Ricky Burns in preparation.
He said:
“My plans for the next few months is to stay active and try to get three fights in, step up the level of opponents and start looking at four and six rounders.
“I sparred Ricky Burns not to long ago, he’s obviously class and has achieved a lot in the sport but there’s some great lads around my weight down at IQ with me so I have had the majority with them for this camp.
“I would have liked to have had a couple more fight this year already but I am staying positive and am sure I will be able to get a few more in before the turn of the year.
“It’s all about preparing correctly for the 8th of September now, at York Hall, tickets will be with me soon and I’ll be posting all information out on my social media.
“If everything goes the way I want then we will be looking at titles come next year, but firstly I have to take care of business in September.”
