Hughie On Whether He’d Fight Cousin Tyson Fury After Months Of Not Speaking

Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury returns to action later tonight as he bids to mount another challenge at a world title.

The only loss on the technically gifted Hughie’s career came in his first world title challenge last year against then WBO champion Joseph Parker.

Parker’s points win that night earned a lot of flack in the media – whom many felt Fury clearly won the fight.

Fast forward to 2018 and Parker has lost that belt to Anthony Joshua and one Tyson Fury is now due to make his comeback on June 9th.

Cousin of Tyson, Hughie, has revealed in recent months that he has not spoke to his cousin since he decided to part company with Hughie’s father and former trainer to Tyson – Peter Fury.

Despite not having spoke in months Hughie told The Mirror he would never fight his cousin:

“I definitely wouldn’t fight him [Tyson]. I wouldn’t lower myself to that level.”

He added:

“Family is family, even if you don’t speak. You don’t put yourself in the ring just for money. I’ve not spoken to him much, but I wish him all the best and I hope he does well. If he gets a world title, he gets one. I’ve not got animosity for anyone.”

Hughie fights Sam Sexton later on tonight in the UK.
