Floyd Mayweather Responds To Lomachenko Challenge

Floyd Mayweather responds to Lomachenko yesterday mentioning that he believes he is protecting fighter Gervonta Davis from him.

Lomachenko was involved in social media boom yesterday in the boxing world when he initially tweeted at Floyd Mayweather to bring it with an image tweet:

However he later clarified that he was not calling out Mayweather directly for a fight, rather his fighter that he promotes Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Mayweather has responded:

“I think if Lomachenko is what they say he is I think they should match him with Mikey Garcia. I think Lomachenko and Mikey Garcia should rock up. I mean, that’s just my honest opinion. Great fighters always move up. Like I said, I ain’t a legend – I’m legendary. I do legendary s***. I hold the top record for pay per views. I’m the only fighter to make over billion dollars in the sport. They said what’s legendary? Oh I make millions every month because I made smart investments.”

Mayweather at this time is retired from the sport of boxing while Lomachenko is looking at Mayweather-promoted fighter Davis as part of his lit list for 2018 after an incredibly successful year in 2017.

Davis earlier this year lost his world title after failing to make weight in his last bout as part of the Mayweather-McGregor undercard back in August.
