A boxing match involving Malignaggi vs McGregor is now being seriously discussed by the powers that be it has been confirmed.

Since the whole Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor hype machine earlier this year, one Paulie Malignaggi has been in the public eye perhaps more so than ever following his part in the event’s story line.

In the run up to the fight Malignaggi famously left McGregor’s training camp of which he was partaking in as a sparring partner.

Due to unhappiness with how he was been treated, essentially.

What ensued was an almost baptism of fire from a media perspective – tweets, photos, videos, arguing and much more have now brought what seemed an unlikely pairing together in a boxing ring, now closer to reality than ever before.

Speaking to Fight Hype YouTube (hat tip) Malignaggi has confirmed that his manager Al Haymon is now discussing the bout with McGregor’s boss, UFC President Dana White:

Since the Mayweather vs McGregor fight Irishman Conor McGregor has not announced his next plans but it is understood for the meantime he will be returning to his usual home of the UFC within the sport of mixed martial arts.

For this boxing match with Malignaggi to take place, one would imagine it would have to be sometime at least in mid 2018.
