Something Every Hardcore Boxing Fan Can Relate To

If you’re a boxing fan the term ‘breakfast club’ might take on a slightly different meaning than what it might mean for others.

One of the biggest problems with being a boxing fan and living in Europe, especially in the UK or Ireland – is having to be part of the ‘Breakfast Club’.

It applies to any boxing fan worldwide really, when it comes to staying awake for fights in different time zones.

This unique club is an exclusive group of individuals dedicated and devoted to the task of watching boxing regardless of the time difference.

Ask any hardcore boxing fan from Europe for example to explain the pitfalls involved in just trying to stay awake long enough to watch any big fight from the States and he or she will tell you the complexities, the logistics and time management tricks and methods involved just to get to the point (normally about 4 to 5 in the early hours of a Sunday morning) and still being in one’s right mind to watch the main event.

Very few sports fans will sacrifice sleep to the point where they will stay awake for over 20 hours to watch an event.

A hardcore boxing fan will do it with a regularity thought that is a credit to the sport.

The breakfast club will meet again for another bout  of  sleep deprivation on September 16th when at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Gennady Golovkin (37-0-33KO) defends his IBF, WBA and WBC and IBO world titles against Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1-34KO) who will be throwing his ‘Ring’ middleweight title in to the mix as well.

It’s a date so mark it on you calendars come September 16th, ‘stupid o’clock’ Sunday morning – front rooms everywhere (in Europe particularly).
