Danny Garcia vs Lamont Peterson and Andy Lee vs Peter Quillin did quite well on US TV, considering a few factors.

The numbers and tallies are in for last weekend’s big Premier Boxing Champions bill on American prime time TV, that was shown live on NBC.

The numbers overall are reasonably good with the night’s boxing action peaking at over 3.07 million viewers, who watched proceedings live.

As the night went on, you can see the numbers (below picture) steadily picking up and represent a decent tally for such an early investment, like Premier Boxing Champions.

On the night boxing went up against some established sports in the US like Nascar, which out performed the sweet science. However this may not have been helped by both fights on the night not been for titles and after a catch weight agreement and another boxer missing weight.

This may have had an adverse affect on the boxing ratings and as the series is such a new venture, this simply represents a starting point in my eyes.

Al Haymon, the power broker responsible for Premier Boxing Champions, will be in this for the long haul and I’d expect to see these numbers climb significantly as the year progresses, if the quality of fights is maintained and a few minor details are addressed (like the above mentioned).

Check out the figures as per the website Zaptoit, who use the Nielson TV ratings to measure and establish the below numbers.
