The Moment Boxing Finally Got The Fight It Wanted

Boxing is in a terrific place globally as a sport once again and moments like this will continue to fuel the sport’s growth.

Boxing in many ways has always been one of those sports that goes through ups and downs in terms of it’s popularity over the years if you like back at it’s long history.

One universal truth seems to be true over the years however – put on good fights and fans will come. When boxing is done right there’s very few sports like it.

When boxing is on it’s almost unbeatable as a sport.

The buzz around highly anticipated big fights draws a plethora of debate and opinion from sports fans online is hard to replicate elsewhere.

Passion is something that personifies why boxing is such a special sport at it’s inner most core, inside and outside the ring.

This past weekend in Las Vegas this uniquely palpable buzz and passion was once again exhibited straight after the Canelo Alvarez and Julio Chavez Jr fight taking place at the MGM. A fight Canelo won via comfortable points decision.

The boxing world has got the fight it’s been asking for a lot in recent times. Golovkin and Canelo is a done deal and it turns out it wasn’t that hard to make it either in the end – according to Canelo’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya.

The date has been set for September 16th, 2017. In the words of a certain boxing promoter:

“Get you’re popcorn ready.”
