One of Mexico's and boxing's biggest punchers returns to Tijuana Feb 19th

Boxing in Mexico’s momentum really grew a lot the last six months or so but one gets a sense it is only just beginning with some special things ahead for boxing in Mexico in the very near future.

Case in point — Jaime Munguia next month.

38-0-30 KO Munguia is still only 25, and although campaigning in America a lot in recent years for big fights — on Feb 19th he is back in Tijuana, Mexico.

Not only that but in a bout that could see between 22,000 plus fans at Plaza de Toros.

That’s a serious event.

A significant big selling ticket event that shows the transparent growth in Mexican boxing.

He takes on D’Mitrius Ballard and if he were to win impressively big fights will ensue thereafter.

Like many in or near his division, he will likely chase the Canelo fight at some point — but would need to move up to 168 lbs. at the least for it to happen in the future.

First thing is first for him though.

Big fight next month in a big event for Mexican boxing.
