Today marks an important day in the Irish history calendar for Irish-Americans, fight fans and Irish around the world to take note of.
Upon first inspection it appears to be going well and orchestrated in the appropriate type of manner.
President of Ireland Michael Higgins and Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin and all the government appear to have put a bit of effort into it to be fair.
As well as remembering another Michael, the most important one ever to Ireland, Michael Collins, who was key to this day 100 years ago.
Surely he is looking down from heaven now upon these individuals right about now. At a hugely unpopular current Irish regime who are more disconnected from the average man on the street than ever.
So much so they have a lot of fear with private bodyguards and luxury cars needed to disconnect them even more from their electorate base.
This says it all, feel sorry for and pity them:
With that being said, to be fair, the current Irish prime minister says something apt and important to today:
‘Independent, democratic government.’
Word to the wise.
