Claressa Shields Back In Boxing

The boxing world has once again being shaken up with some news that might bring a very good fight into play sooner rather than later.

Undefeated professional world champion and two-time Olympic Gold medalist Claressa Shields will return to her native sport of boxing soon.

Following a brief mixed martial arts fight that she won earlier in the summer.

She joins the new BOXXER tournament in the UK.

One that will air on Sky Sports along with boxing action from Wasserman by Kalle Sauerland and Top Rank for US boxing action.

Crucially, long-time rival from the amateurs Savannah Marshall Marshall will also be in it.

So, the chance of a long awaited showdown between the two now looks like a reality.

Even more good news came for the tournament with son of boxing legend, Chris Eubank Jr. and former world heavyweight title challenger Hughie Fury also included.

Many believed Fury deserved to be world champion when he fought Joseph Parker a few years back. Only for the decision not to go his way.

All in all, the amount of places on both sides of the pond and indeed, around the world, that boxing is now being shown on for fans, is stellar.

Shields reacted to the above a short time ago on Twitter saying:

It is expected the first two events of the event will take place this month and then again next month.

Both taking place in the UK.
