New Cuban World Champion In Talks For First Defense

It wasn’t always the case that Cuban boxers transferred their sublime boxing ability from amateur to professional boxing but in recent years that has changed.

Newly crowned WBA super-middleweight world champion David Morrell case in point.

He came out of nowhere recently to win the title by knockout in only his fifth professional fight (5-0-5 KO).

An unbelievable feat that more people should be talking about frankly.

The tall southpaw will be a problem for anyone at 168 lbs.

It is understood that the WBA have now ordered negotiations to begin for possibly his next fight against John Ryder of the UK.

A solid test for Morrell next up if that is to be the fight.

What a win he had just gone at the end of last month.
