Watch: First Look At Gervonta Davis At 140 Pounds

Pound for pound boxing star Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis bids to make history on June 26th in becoming a three-weight world champion.

A risk, without doubt, stepping up that much weight and in there with a dangerous opponent in Mario Barrios in Atlanta.

A bout for the WBA super-lightweight title.

One of the likable things about the impressive career of 26-year-old Davis so far is his fearless willingness to take on challenges.

Last October he knocked out Leo Santa Cruz cold in one of the most chilling stoppages in some time in professional boxing.

If his power carries to super-lightweight, Davis perhaps could then be considered to be one of the pound for pound biggest punchers in boxing.

But there’s more to his game than just power, of course, and now that he is consistently disciplined for the most part, year round, there’s no reason why he can’t continue to improve.

So many big fights out there also if he wins impressively June 26th — against other undefeated fighters in, or at least, around, his weight class.

Here is the first look at how he’s performing in the gym at 140 lbs. ahead of June 26th:

Davis is currently 24-0.

23 of those coming by knockout as a professional so far.

The fight against Barrios takes place on June 26th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

A contented stomping ground for him so far.

The same venue he knocked out Yuri Gamboa in back in 2019.
