‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard is considered one of the best fighters in boxing history.
A champion inside and outside of the ring.
Inside of it, an explosive boxer with fast hands, combinations and buckets of heart and guts.
He was part of the great era of himself, Hagler, Hearns and Duran.
Speaking on Twitter Leonard remembered his father’s birthday who would have been 99 years old:
No doubt he’ll meet him again on day in heaven.
Leonard since retiring from the sport still sometimes appears at talks and commentating roles with his encyclopedic knowledge of boxing.
