George Foreman On Who His Two Favorite Lighter Weight Fighters Were

Sometimes the lighter weight classes in boxing can get overlooked.

That was the case traditionally in boxing.

A lot of that changed years ago of course.

Mainly when the heavyweight division wasn’t as popular as what it was today.

The likes of Floyd Mayweather, Shane Mosley and many others in recent times generating a lot of interest in welterweight for instance.

But before that, it was Prince Naseem Hamed in even smaller weight classes who first brought the interest and big money to the lighter weight classes that they enjoy today.

Former heavyweight champion and born again Christian George Foreman pointed to Naseem and another fighter as his two favorite lighter weight boxers of all-time:

For those that may not be familiar with Saddler.

He was a two-time featherweight world champion and also held a version of the super-featherweight belt.

He is considered by some to be one of the biggest punchers pound for pound ever in boxing.
