Deontay Wilder Reacts To Tyson Fury's Concerns About His Mental Health

The heavyweight landscape continues to scramble before the year is out with its main champions all hoping to be back in action at least once before 2020 ends.

The UK’s Anthony Joshua will face Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev in December but an anticipated rematch involving the other main world title belts in the division remains unclear.

Lineal champion Tyson Fury and former WBC champion Deontay Wilder were expected to face one another in a third fight but as of yet the status of such a bout is not confirmed.

Recently Wilder came out with comments regarding the pair’s rematch that caused a lot of controversy.

Alleging glove tampering and water bottle tampering among other things.

Fury appeared on a TV show this week expressing concern for Wilder’s mental health.

Wilder has now responded in kind with the following on Twitter:

“Hey @Tyson_Fury , Don’t worry about me I am Fine, Blessed. The only thing I want from you is for you to honor your agreement and fight me. I gave you 2 shots when I didn’t have to and it changed your life. Now it is time for you to be a man and give me my shot as you agreed to.”

It appears that team Wilder have also looked to innitiate legal proceedings to force the rematch.

Whatever any potential mediation resolution unfolds it would be good to see them both in the ring before end of year either way.

Boxing needs it.

With news that Canelo Alvarez free himself last week and will box before the end of the year boxing needs to end the year big.

And it will too.
