George Foreman and Muhammad Ali are two names synonymous with the sport of boxing.
Icons of the sweet science that impacted not only the sport itself but wider popular culture for different reasons.
Ali, for taking a stand for numerous important humanitarian issues during his active fight career.
Foreman for transforming himself from a mean, snarling beast in his younger days to a man of peace in his born again Christian latter part of his fight career.
Foreman wasn’t always as cool, calm and collected as that though.
Speaking to one fight fan on social media big George let slip a real nugget of insight on Ali.
Recalling the first time they met in their younger days Foreman said Ali told him:

As this trip to Italy starts to wind down and when I sit back and analyze it all, I’d certainly have serious concerns for Italy and Europe going forward economically and/or otherwise.
The economy was already reliant too much on tourism before and since they opened up for tourism again in recent weeks in Italy, I’ve seen very, very few tourists here in truth.
It’s almost like an under tone of the place slowly but surely starting to burn to the ground in 2020.
It could be a long time before tourists come back here in the numbers they did before sadly.
Admittedly, it is not nice to see what is going on over here for the good, hard working Italian people.
I hope I am wrong, mind you, but it would appear that if the EU, the European Union, do not support them in the coming months — like other countries in Europe — things could really unravel in spectacular fashion for countries in Europe in the EU.
That’s the impression we’re getting over here at least on the ground.
I’d tend to think more independent, entrepreneurial nations like America, the UK, Russia, China, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Switzerland etc will fair better or perhaps, recover quicker, from an exceedingly tenuous 2020 thus far for humanity.
You can’t rely on people to give you a handout, otherwise you’re just a sheep to the slaughter.
If you want to be one of life’s great survivors you have to be able to paddle your own canoe like the above countries do in my humble opinion.
A bit like Miuhammad did in fairness:
There’s a balance to everything but you’re either a sheep or a wolf.
I don’t know the experience of being a sheep but I know it doesn’t have much of a chance in this world where fighting is required to survive, win and thrive while still having a positive impact on humanity along the way.
God is good ultimately but there’s a balance to everything — one must be a good wolf in my view — so to speak.
It ain’t how hard you hit as one Rocky Balboa said.
It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward:
Stay safe folks, keep positive and keep the faith.
Boxing is back and will continue to gradually have more interesting action to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
Don’t you worry about that.
Not even for a second.
You can’t keep a good dog down. Boxing has come through harder times than this, I tend to think of this from a certain Dr. Dre on the matter:

Boxing and America will be just fine.
Out of non boxing famous people in history dead or alive, I have to say the good doctor above, along with rapper Eminem and James Gandolfini would be the three I’d choose to converse with over a dinner if to pick any three celebrities from history.
Three geniuses in their own ways.
At any rate, roll on the next few weeks as the sport continues to come back slowly but surely.
