Gamboa Sets Record Straight On Tendon Controversy From Gervonta Davis Fight

Following his stoppage loss to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis this past weekend in Atlanta there was a lot of controversy about moments leading up to the time of the stoppage for Cuban boxer Yuri Gamboa.

Some fans online during the fight expressed opinion that he had a problem with his shoe mid fight.

Others cited that he could be badly struggling with an injury which allowed Davis to get the stoppage.

Either way, the fact he stuck in there that long with a puncher as ferocious as Davis tells you all you need to know about the fighting spirit and warrior heart of veteran Yuri Gamboa.

The Cuban has now cleared up the controversy online with the following statement:

To fight on with a snapped tendon for the entire fight, considering it happened so early, shows incredible heart.

It really does. The pain his must have been in would have been excruciating.

As for Davis, he now moves on to some big potential fights in 2020 that fans hope will be made sooner rather than later.
