End Of Year 2019 Final Heavyweight Boxing Rankings

Its been an exciting year again for the heavyweight division in boxing this year.

Granted, it could have been better, in that we’re still waiting to see a unification fight at the top of the pile.

But all good things come to those who wait as they say.

By the end of 2020 the way things are lining up behind the scenes suggests we’ll see a fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

Indeed, in as early as February and then again in the summer there promises to be two fights between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

WBA, IBF and WBO champion Anthony Joshua after winning his titles back from Andy Ruiz in Saudi Arabia is set to take on IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria next up in 2020.

Provided he wins, one would hope he’ll take on the winner or the guy who comes out on top of the two fights between Wilder and Fury — before 2020 is out.

Here’s our final heavyweight rankings for the year:

  1. Anthony Joshua
  2. Deontay Wilder
  3. Tyson Fury
  4. Andy Ruiz
  5. Dillian Whyte
  6. Luis Ortiz
  7. Joseph Parker
  8. Alexander Povetkin
  9. Adam Kownacki
  10. Hughie Fury

Of course, this is all subjective and you can find alternative boxing rankings on other sites too.

Ring Magazine and ESPN often give decent insight in their rankings too I find.

All in all, 2020 promises to finally be the break out year for this era of heavyweight boxing.

Sit back, relax and enjoy it.

The action is going to come thick and fast.

Roll on 2020 for the heavyweight division.
