Terence Crawford Reacts To Latest Win With A Message For Errol Spence and PBC

Terence Crawford came back from an early wobble this weekend in New York to score a ninth round stoppage victory at Madison Square Garden.

A man of few words who does his talking with his fists inside the ring, Crawford has been a slow burn in recent years in terms of his promoters’ ability to make him famous to general sports fans outside of the general hardcore boxing audience.

Of course that’s not his fault.

He’s done his job in the ring and just because he doesn’t choose to engage in trash talk is of no consequence in the grand scheme of things.

As long as he keeps winning and beating the best the fame will follow eventually.

But in there is where the problem lies, however.

He hasn’t been able to get the other best welterweights in the ring due to them boxing for rivals, Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions who are tied to the Fox network in the US.

Crawford on the other-hand boxes on ESPN and is signed to rival promotional company Top Rank as their premier 147 lbs fighter.

A man of few words, true to form — when asked his plans in the post-fight press conference this weekend, in terms of the new year — his message was a simple one and directed at the Premier Boxing Champions fighters:

“My goal (in 2020) is to get all these fighters that everybody says I’m running (PBC fighters) from inside the ring.”

Errol Spence being top of the list alongside other welterweights at PBC like Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Manny Pacquiao.

Yes, 2020 should be a bumper year for the welterweight division providing Crawford can finally crack into the top tier of it and land some of these big fights.
