Teddy Atlas Explains His Brutal Tweets To Andy Ruiz After Anthony Joshua Loss

Renowned trainer, commentator and now pod caster Teddy Atlas was one of the leading critics of former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr following his fight last weekend with Anthony Joshua.

Joshua reclaimed his three heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia with a shut out points win over Ruiz in a fight that afterwards saw the former champion admit he hadn’t trained hard for.

Ruiz tipped the scales close to a whopping 300 lbs and it seems some in boxing have been quick to put the boot in on him while he’s down this week.

Not very admirable in my opinion.

He’s probably not in a good place after such a crushing defeat and for so many pundits and promoters to hammer him is a bit over the top in my view.

That said, that’s what comes with being the heavyweight champion of the world.

Here’s what Atlas had to say on his YouTube podcast about the whole situation:

Joshua now moves on to once again being talked about in a super fight against either Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.

Both Wilder and Fury must first fight one another however in a bout expected to take place in February.

The announcement of the fight is expected in the coming week or two.
