When it comes to finding two nicer or more genuine guys in the brutal and ruthless sport of professional boxing, you’d be hard pressed to find two better people than Errol Spence and Shawn Porter in truth.
Two fighters who always do the talking in the ring with their fists and gentlemen outside of it.
How boxing used to be in many respects.
Both warriors fought the hearts out last night in a bout at the Staples Center in LA, California that ultimately went to the victor Spence by split decision.
An entertaining bout all in all that definitely delivered plenty of action and one that sets up some interesting potential fights next up.
For Spence, a likely fight against Manny Pacquiao or Danny Garcia.
For Porter, who’s stock will only have went up after last night, a fight likely against the opponent above whom Spence doesn’t take on.
As for how both guys handled the post-fight reactions last night, there was little surprises really for those who have followed both boxer’s careers.
An excellent example for the sweet science at the highest level of the sport and to any young boxers out there.
Both the winner and loser handled the fight afterwards with class and mutual respect for one another’s abilities.
