On April 13th double Olympic gold medallist Claressa Shields of the US will take on world champ Christina Hammer in a unification fight in the women’s middleweight division that will see all four recognized titles on the line.
Many believe it to be the biggest women’s title fight in history for this reason — also coupled with Shields’ Olympic pedigree and the fact both women are undefeated as professionals coming into the bout with a combined record of 32-0.
Ahead of the bout the two young women sat down for a one on one discussion:
Shields currently holds a professional boxing record of 8-0-2KO and has been critical of her opponent’s level of opposition as a pro to date.
Hammer is the more experienced (as a professional) of the two and holds a pro boxing record of 24-0-11KO.
The fight takes place on Showtime live from the Boardwalk in Atlantic City on April 13th.
