Marcos Maidana Continues To Lose Weight With Explosive Training Methods

Marcos Maidana is clearly taking his comeback to the sport seriously as he comes to near the end of his first month of serious training with the view to making a return to a professional boxing ring later this year.

The big hitting, fan-friendly Argentinian’s main issue at the moment is weight loss as he bids to shed the pounds to get back down to his old fight weight or near it of 147lbs.

He’s employed strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza to help him do so and all week this week on Fight Hype YouTube he’s been shown to be blasting the pads as well as smashing heavy bags with a baseball bat:

With the welterweight division having plenty of top tier competition on offer there is plenty of interesting fights to match Chino in later in the year.

Although it has been a while since he fought he’s not exactly old at 35 and if he continues to take the comeback serious there’s no doubt with his granite chin, durability and exciting fight style that there’s still some big fights left in the tank for him.

The question will be has living the good life a little too much since retirement effected his timing and reflexes considerably.

The answer to that won’t be known until he gets back in the ring.

His last fight came five years ago in 2014 to Floyd Mayweather.

Marcos Maidana currently holds a professional boxing record of 35-5-31KO.
