Errol Spence Calls Out Manny Pacquiao After Defeating Mikey Garcia

It would appear that the wheels are already being put in motion to stage an Errol Spence vs Manny Pacquiao welterweight title unification fight next up.

Tonight after dominating Mikey Garcia in front of a passionate crowd in Texas, Manny Pacquiao was brought into the ring by Errol Spence himself straight after the fight who said to him:

“Tell Manny Pacquiao come back over here. Manny! Come on over here Manny! You’ve been here before. Legend of the sport. You’ve broke records. It would be my honor to fight him next.”

Pacquiao replied:

“Yeah why not? It would be a good fight. I’m so happy to be here in Dallas and I hope I will be back here soon.”

Obviously at 40 years of age Pacquiao is not in his prime but as his last performance against Adrien Broner showed in January — he’s not finished just yet.

The Filipino boxing legend still has enough speed, heart, experience and boxing IQ to give any of the top welterweights a good fight.

Ultimately, Errol Spence proved his nickname ‘The Truth’ tonight and will be looked to be built by Haymon, Fox and Showtime as the next big American boxing star.

To do that a fight with Pacquiao, a legend of boxing, would certainly help him continue to build towards that goal.

Ultimately, though, a fight with WBO champion Terence Crawford will be the big test for him one day.

Stylistically for the time being a fight with Pacquiao would be an intriguing one and a decent test for Spence.
