Light-heavyweight knockout merchant Sergey Kovalev from Russia has been ordered to face fellow big hitter Anthony Yarde by the WBO.
They have 30 days until April 12th to reach an agreement or the fight will go to purse bids.
A savage collision of punching power if it were to happen but one wonders is such a stern test a little too soon for Yarde in his career.
Kudos to him if he takes on Kovalev at this stage.
Many boxing fans are sceptical that he’ll take the fight on it seems:
Despite the pessimism above, Yarde would not duck any fight to be fair.
Boxers don’t duck fights if covering this sport has taught me anything over the years.
Whether or not the fight happens however remains to be seen.
