Carl Frampton Reveals The 2 World Champions He’s Talking To For A 2019 Fight

Former world champion Carl Frampton might be coming off the back of a loss to world champion Josh Warrington in recent months but the fact the fight was as good as it was and in the eyes of many, was one of the best fights of 2018, his meant his stock has only gone up since the turn of the year.

Losses in boxing thankfully are not as important as they used to be in terms of maintaining the perfect record.

Something the UFC in the sport of mixed martial arts helped get rid of years ago in that all fight fans want to see is the best fighting the best now on a regular basis in their primes.

Belts and undefeated records just are not as important in boxing as they once were.

From Frampton’s perspective, his fight with Warrington was much so impressive last time out that even though it ended in defeat he has disclosed to the folks at BT Sport Twitter (hat tip) that he’s already had early talks with two current world champions about a shot at either of them later this year:

Interesting stuff for sure and two fights stylistically that will only deliver in the ring like his last fight with Warrington did.

Frampton knows Santa Cruz all too well of course having shared the ring with him before in highly entertaining battles but a fight against young lion Oscar Valdez would also surely make for equally as compelling viewing if made this year.

31 year old Carl Frampton at this time holds a professional boxing record of 26-2-15KO and is a two-weight world champion.
